Injury-Stricken Newcastle Give Arsenal Further Boost!

Following a very impressive display against Monaco in the Champions League, Arsenal will travel to St. James’ Park to face Newcastle United as the Gunners shift their attention back to the Premier League. Considering the rich vein of form that Arsene Wenger’s side are currently in, there cannot be any debate over the fact that Arsenal are most certainly overwhelming favourites in the fixture.

According to latest reports, the Newcastle manager John Carver has confirmed via the club’s official twitter account that he’s got just 13 fit outfield players to choose from when high-flying Arsenal come to visit and also added that he will not be using youth team players just to fill up the gaps in the squad.

The former Leeds United and Luton Town boss was quoted as saying: “I only have 13 fit senior players, plus two goalkeepers, for Saturday’s game. Saturday is not the environment for young lads, especially against an in-form Arsenal side. It’s not the right time for them.”

Coming into Saturday’s game, the Magpies will be missing key players such as Papiss Cisse, Stephen Taylor, Cheick Tiote, Paul Dummett, Massadio Haidara, Mehdi Abeid, Rolando Aarons and Siem De Jong, while Fabrizio Coloccini will miss out due to suspension. Considering the additional fact that Newcastle come into the game with no momentum whatsoever, there will be no excuses if Arsenal slip up against a depleted Newcastle side.

With that being said, I fully expect Arsene Wenger’s men to come away with a handsome victory when they travel to the North East on Saturday. As a result of the Gunners’ Champions League campaign having ended against Monaco, the team can now completely focus on the Premier League and with Manchester City just one point ahead, a handsome victory at St. James’ will give Arsenal a further boost to beat Manuel Pellegrini’s side for second spot.

  1. I am sorry to say John Carver’s Newcastle first team injury woes are no concern of Arsenal FC. That injury crisis at Newcastle is solely the business of Mr Carver and his staff to deal with it. What is of a concern for the Arsenal boss and his Gunners is to start a CONSOLIDATING GAINS GUNNERS STARTS at St, James’ Park on Saturday afternoon to collect all the 3 points that are going to at stake. And consolidate their position in the Barclays Premier League table. If need be, the Gunners might go along to St. James’ with their missile artillery batteries including assault rifles, AK 47 automatic machine guns, grenades, land mines, bombs, wireless radio transmitters, Tanks, Armed Forces Personnel Carriers, medical kits, foods, attack gunship helicopters support and a command structure to battle the Toon Army on the St. James’ Park playing pitch. And force the Toon Army to capitulation after taking 5 Toon Army officers as prisoners of war to the Emirates stadium for exhibition for the Arsenal Gooners to behold. NFC 0-5 AFC FT 90′ +.
