If this latest Arsenal transfer runour is true, it could be the answer to the Gunners’ current defensive troubles and could mean that Arsenal will be much stronger in the latter part of the season and perhaps be able to mount a proper Premier League title challenge.
But it will not help the Gunners in the Champions League, because Fabian Schar is already cup-tied after starring for his Swiss club Basel, who look set to beat Liverpool into the knockout phase. But even though his club are doing very well in Europe, Schar has indicated that he is ready to leave, according to a Metro report, and that has alerted Arsenal who are now preparing a £10 million bid for the defender in the January transfer window.
The 22-year old centre back is also wanted by a number of clubs around Europe, but the report claims that he is very keen on a move to north London to play at the Emirates. So the question now is will the Arsenal bid of £10 million will be enough for Basel to sell?
