Jesus Navas Unaware Of Possible Arsenal Move

2

Amidst strong rumours that Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger might bring in Spanish star Jesus Navas to replace the possible outgoings of Theo Walcott and Andrey Arshavin, the 26-year-old Spaniard has declared that he’s unaware of such negotiations.

According to the newspapers, Theo Walcott isn’t willing to extend his deal with the Gunners now that Alex Song and Robin Van Persie have chosen to leave, and Arsene Wenger has been trying to address that by bringing in a powerful reinforcement in a timely manner.

‘I don’t know anything about Arsenal,’ Navas said when asked about the club’s interest.

‘I’m staying calm and I am enjoying every moment here.’

Arsene Wenger has stated that a midfielder would join, but Navas is much more of an attacker, and we all know that by midfielder the Frenchman meant a defensive one who can replace the leave of Alex Song. Perhaps M’Vila or Sahin, although the last of the two is rumoured to be much closer to Liverpool.

If Walcott does leave, Jesus Navas would be an amazing replacement, but with the massive changes at Arsenal and with the already began season, if Theo will also leave, the Gunner attacking team will be completely changed of the one Arsene Wenger had at hand last season. What do you think will happen?

  1. Walcott and Arshavin sold = money for Jesus + Arsenal saved. He would bring much needed creativity on the wing,
while Santi can play as an attacking midfielder.
He’ll also add blistering pace (not useless pace like Walcott) and he’s also a very good dribbler. Great player, should start for Spain. Brought extra dimension to their play in Euro 2012. I don’t see it happening though.

  2. Whats the source of this quote? would be interesting to see the whole transcript, to see if he states intention.
