An away game against an in form Cardiff after a midweek Champions league game is far from ideal but it is something Arsenal clearly will need to deal with. Being one of the first teams to play out of the potential title contenders, the Gunners have a real opportunity to put pressure on the rest of the pack by going seven points clear.

Cardiff have taken more points from the top 10 of the Premier league than the bottom 10. It’s not a great stat for them but it does mean they are a very formidable force against the big teams especially at what is becoming a fortress of a stadium.

Ramsey will be making a return to the club that made him and he’ll be vital for such a match. His relentless pressing and brilliant attacking play should give us the edge providing we can survive the pressure they put on us.

Line up:
Szczesny
Sagna – Mertesacker – Koscielny – Gibbs
Arteta – Ramsey
Walcott – Özil – Wilshere
Giroud

We finally have a few options that we can rotate with in our attack. I’ve opted to start Walcott as he should be fine to make an impact against Cardiff. If Wenger still deems him not to be ready, then we will probably start Wilshere on the right with either Cazorla or Rosicky on the left. I’ve started Wilshere instead of Cazorla or Rosicky simply because he’s played really well in two consecutive games now and this is the perfect opportunity to build on his confidence. He has to start to maintain his development and he’s in some really good form at the moment.

This game is going to be one of the most difficult away (outside the top 7) but I can see us doing enough to get the 2 – 1 win.
