It looks like Arsene Wenger will soon be able to give the Arsenal fans something to cheer about in the summer transfer window, perhaps before it even opens officially on the 1st of July. Given that the Czech Republic international number one is currently with a club in the same league as Arsenal, he would be able to complete his move now anyway.

According to a report in The Mirror today, the final stumbling block to the Gunners getting this top keeper from our Premier League rivals Chelsea has been removed and it has nothing to do with the wishes of Jose Mourinho to veto it.

According to the paper, the 33-year old wanted an assurance that he would not go from being a second choice to Thibaut Courtois to being in the same position at his new club and our manager is said to have given him that. So with the transfer fee and personal terms easily sorted, Arsenal fans could have a new player to support in the next few days!
