This was supposed to be the week that the Arsenal transfer target Petr Cech was due for a meeting with the top brass at Chelsea to sort out his future. Despite his club manager Jose Mourinho being very clear about not wanting the talented and experienced keeper to join a Premier League rival, it is still thought that Roman Abramovich will stand by his decision not to block Cech’s transfer to thank him for a decade or so of sterling service.

And while Mourinho has hinted about getting one of the players from Arsenal to go the other way, a report in The Mirror has revealed two things that suggest that the keeper has already made his decision and that he will be coming to Arsenal.

One of the other clubs interested in the Czech Republic number one is the French Ligue 1 winners PSG, but the report reveals that they have ended their attempt to sign him as they would be wasting their time. And although the Gunners and Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky was trying not to reveal anything, it sounds to me as though he is expecting Cech to join him in north London for next season.

Rosicky said, “I know some things from both sides but I will not interfere. It could even turn against me.

“Both sides know what they are doing. Arsenal are a top team in the world. Players want to be transferred there, that is nothing new. It is a fantastic club.”

Do you expect Cech to join Arsenal soon?
