Hey, Arsenal fans, I am not complaining about the way Arsenal are doing their transfer business this summer. Well, not much anyway, because compared to last year, it is as if Arsene Wenger is rushing around like a headless chicken to get his signings done. Remember the horrible wait and frustration before the Gunners grabbed Mesut Ozil on deadline day?

So, the Frenchman has wrapped up the deals for two quality players so far, in Mathieu Debuchy and Alexis Sanchez, but I think we can all agree that there needs to be more transfers made if Arsenal are to really push for the Premier League title while fighting in three cup competitions.

I thought we would have snapped up the France international striker Loic Remy by now, as the QPR star apparently has quite a low release clause of around £10 million, has proved himself at Premier League level and would offer the Gunners something different to what we have with Olivier Giroud.

However, there seem to have been stumbling blocks over wages and I think that Wenger has been trying to do a deal on the transfer fee as well. That has opened the door for our north London rivals Tottenham who are said to be keen on Remy as well.

But a Daily Mail report has revealed that the striker’s current manager, Harry Redknapp, has assured Arsenal fans that we have still gotr the upper hand over the spuds, as usual, as Remy wants Champions League football.

Redknapp said, “I think he really wants to play Champions League football next year somewhere.

“We gave him time off after the World Cup but I think he’s really looking to move. I would be surprised if he was at QPR at the start of the year.

“If he goes to the right team, he’s capable of scoring 15 to 20 Premier League goals next season.

“If nothing comes along I’m sure he will be back here. He had a contract, a good contract, here.”

So do you think that Remy will be playing for Arsenal this season?

  1. Well as it stands martinez miquel coquelin ryo and sanogo are in our 28 man squad. For me that means at least 5 positions can be improved upon although one of those would have to be under 21. If we signed one more forward say remy then loaned out sanogo and ryo. I wouldn’t belton sad. Replace Martinez with ospina and macey, giving us 3 keepers, replace miquel with caulker and coquelin with one of the benders, schneirderlin or khedira and we would have a team capable of winning the title.

  2. It seems as though Wenger will not be buying a 30mill striker this window. Remy appears to be a cheap solution to our striker shortage. He’s proven in the premiership and can score goals. We definitely need a backup striker who can be used as a substitute or an alternative to Giroux. His wages may seem a little high, and I stress a little high, but how much money will be saved with a 10mill signing on fee? The gunner players are due to resume training before the start of the season so sign him now and allow him to settle in with his new teammates and do his house search.

  3. I think all Gooners would like to see him playing for Arsenal next season, and excatly that we yet again have one over the spuds,in going to play in the Champions League next season!!!
