Reus the perfect player to replace Arsenal star Alexis – NOT!

I am not having a go at Marco Reus here, not much anyway, but I will be properly peed off if it is the Borussia Dortmund and Germany star that Arsenal sign this summer as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, as various Arsenal transfer rumours like the one in the Daily Mail this week have suggested might happen.

If Arsenal go for the transfer of Reus just to boost the squad and attacking options then I would be more than pleased, but if our Chilean striker is going to leave at the end of this season it is a top class centre forward that the Gunners will need to sign, and Reus is not that.

Last season, before Wenger gave Alexis a chance to shine in the centre forward role, which he grabbed with both hands, you might have accepted Reus as a replacement for him but not anymore. The German is more of a wide forward or attacking midfielder and I do not think we could rely on him starring in the middle as the Chilean has done.

The 27-year old has only scored six goals for Dortmund this season and even though you could point to the fact that he has only played 14 games for them, that leads to another concern, his injury record. The last thing that Arsenal need is an injury prone player, especially in a position as important as centre forward.

We all hope that Sanchez stays, but if not who would you like Arsenal to sign in his place?
