Ryo Miyaichi – Next time I will score for Bolton

1

The Arsenal winger Ryo Miyaichi made his debut for Bolton last weekend, coming on at half-time in the 2-1 defeat to Wigan, and he nearly scored the equaliser except for a brilliant save from Al-Habsi.

He seemed pleased with his performance (if not the result) but the Arsenal loanee is now looking forward to doing even better next time he is given the opportunity. “I was happy to be playing and I found out more about the Premier League, but we lost the game so I can’t enjoy it too much,” Miyaichi said.

“The manager told me to go and play my football and be confident. He wanted me to run at the defenders and take them on, so that was what I tried to do.

“I could have got a goal but the goalkeeper made a good save. If I had scored then everything would be more positive. Next time I’m sure I can score.

“As a team, we passed and moved the ball better after half-time but the result wasn’t good.”

“I have to keep doing what I did against Wigan and hopefully I can get into the team from the start of matches.

“It’s not going to be easy. I’m learning every day.”

Although that was his first Premiership game after two Cup appearances for Arsenal. He has had the experience of 12 games in Holland with Feyenoord last season. He certainly seems to be a fast learner and supremely confident. It looks like Wenger has unearthed yet another diamond!
