Steve Bruce realistic about Hull’s chances of beating Arsenal – very small!

Hull City may have got a fantastic result in the 3-1 win over Liverpool at the weekend, but he understands that a visit to the Emirates is a different kettle of fish. The Gunners are clear at the top of the table and have brushed aside everyone on their home turf since the shock opening day defeat to Aston Villa.

Hull’s manager Steve Bruce made it clear that he was not holding much hope of coming away with anything tonight when he said: “We’ve shown when we’ve been to the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle, Everton and Tottenham that we’ve made a fist of it,”

“We maybe haven’t got the right result in those games but I think we have to approach tonight’s game in the same way. Let’s go and have a go, enjoy it and see what we can do.

“But you know when you go to Arsenal that the one thing you’re going to have to do is defend well and play well because they are as good as anybody in this league at the moment. It’s so difficult to set up against them because the players seem to play anywhere and everywhere. They play with that fluidity and freedom.

“There’s a goal threat from five or six players. We can’t afford to have an off-day, we’re going to have to be at our best.”

Not only will Hull have to be at their best, Arsenal will have to be at their worst! Be prepared for a walkover….
