Sunderland Snubs Arsenal’s Interest In Top Winger

1

Amid rumours of a possible Arsenal bid for Sunderland’s Kieran Richardson coach Martin O’Neill snubbed the possibility saying that the club was not contacted with any official offer for the former United man.

“Arsenal have not been in touch with me, I don’t know anything about it.

“I asked the chief executive as well and she said no, there hasn’t been anybody in touch yet.

“But what I have said is that I would keep players informed about what is happening.

“Obviously, I don’t want to rush players to leave the football club. I would rather think about stabilising things here, and hopefully we can try to progress from there.

“But regardless of whether you are going to be doing business or not, you are going to be linked with players, clubs are going to be linked with some of our players, and at this minute we are hanging in there.”

The 27-year-old winger can also play as a full-back and rumours have it that Wenger wants him on loan until the end of the season. Richardson is in form lately but many think there’s no way for him to go to Arsenal on a loan move. Sunderland needs Richardson as he’s one of their most important players, so a loan move seems a bit farfetched, don’t you think?
