Wenger – Van Persie was exceptional

Arsenal’s boss Arsene Wenger spoke after the 2-1 win The Gunners succeeded in getting against Sunderland about the importance that scorer and captain Robin Van Persie has within the team. The Dutch was the scorer of both goals which lead to Arsenal’s win.

“Well, he scored two goals. I think you have to analyse the game a little bit to see how important he is. The first goal was a good display of the team and the second chance he made the difference just because of his skill, which was exceptional.”, said Wenger

Arsenal’s injury list update ahead of the Sunderland game.

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger assessed the injury problems within the team and offered an interview for Arsenal.com regarding them. The Frenchman still has a lot of injuries to worry about, but some of the players are almost ready to play once more for The Gunners.

Wenger expects some of the players to come back from injury in the following 2 weeks and spoke about each one of them:

“It is very good news. Diaby is coming back in full training now so he is 10 days away to be competitive to play. All being well he should be available for the Carling Cup or the game before.”

Wenger:”It’s a time to transform everything into positive results”

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger was quoted on Arsenal’s official website saying that the game at White Hart Lane against Tottenham was one of the best games The Gunners played so far, and that they were not defeated due to a poor performance, but because of the “details”.

“I would have loved to have played three days later,” he told Arsenal.com

“Because I felt the quality of performance was there but the outcome was very frustrating and somewhere I felt we punished ourselves.”
