Arsenal blame Wales for Ramsey injury woe

It was not all good news for Arsenal this week, despite the delight at beating Bayern Munich and getting the Champions League campaign back on track. Aaron Ramsey had to be replaced by a suspected hamstring strain and now his lengthy absence has been confirmed by the latest injury update on the official Arsenal website.

Arsene Wenger revealed, “He had a scan today but he’s out. I believe he will be out until after the next international break. With the [last] international break, the fact that he played against Andorra certainly cost Bale and him as well.”

Arsenal’s Di Maria transfer hopes get major boost from Madrid

One of the main reasons for Arsenal having any hope whatsoever of signing the Argentina international Angel Di Maria, who scored the only goal of the game against Switzerland last night to book his country’s place in the World Cup quarter-finals, is that the 26-year old winger does not feel he gets the credit and playing time he deserves at Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants have repeatedly spoke about how much they want him to stay, but it all sounds a bit forced and there is more transfer news from Spain today, reported by The Express, that makes Di Maria’s exit from the Champions League holders even more likely.

Did Spurs delay Bale so Arsenal had no Madrid players for derby?

Between Arsenal and North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, the transfer news has been heavily dominated by the lot down the lane, with both very talented players coming to White Hart Lane and also the saga of the one player that everyone laps up, Gareth Bale.

Bale has been touted all summer to leave Spurs; however his push for Real Madrid still hasn’t gone through with just 3 days left in the transfer window. Sky Sports News reported yesterday that Bale had finally agreed terms with the Spanish club, whilst it’s unsure if a fee has been agreed or not. But that aside, Sky Sports News also stated that information suggested Tottenham official Daniel Levy has not sanctioned the sale of Bale to Madrid yet for two reasons.

Brazilian star coy on Arsenal transfer but Spurs could outbid Gunners

The rumours and reports about the 20-year old Brazilian star Bernard signing for Arsenal have been gathering pace over the last few days, but the player himself has refused to confirm or deny them. His words will not stop the speculation, though. Arsene Wenger did issue an outright denial, but nobody seems to have believed the Frenchman, as he does have previous form for deceiving us over Arsenal transfers.

Bernard is a highly thought of left sided attacking player, and he has been linked with a number of clubs around Europe, including Liverpool and Tottenham. The Champions League runners up Borussia Dortmund were also thought to be very keen, and they need to replace Mario Gotze.

Do Arsenal need to look further than Bale?

The last time Arsenal played Tottenham, the day ended very happily for the Gunners as they ran out 5-2 winners after Emmanuel Adebayor’s reckless and dangerous tackle earned him a red card. If you look at the teams from that day, Spurs have lost two big strong midfielders, Sandro and Huddlestone, to injury. They are also with out two of their forward players Dempsey and Defoe, so Arsenal should feel confident of a good result.
