Stats suggest Rabiot IS the right transfer for Arsenal

Arsenal have been linked in transfer rumours with plenty of central midfielders this summer, and in every transfer window that I can recall. They are not always players seen as a typical defensive midfielder, often being more all-rounders like Sami Khedira, which Arsene Wenger’s use of Mikel Arteta in the role suggests is more likely.

The player that seems to be favourite to sign for us at the minute is Adrien Rabiot of PSG. I must admit that I knew very little about the 19-year old, but as some reports in the papers are claiming that the deal is nearly done, I have been doing a bit of research, using the comparison matrix on Squawka.com.

What will be Arsenal’s first choice midfield trio?

It is safe to say that Arsenal has the widest and largest array of offensive talents in midfield in the Premier league. Some might even say Arsenal may have the best amongst the world, with only Bayern Munich close to us. Ozil, Ramsey, Wilshere, Cazorla, Rosicky, Arteta and rumours of Khedira or Bender joining, it must be a huge headache for Arsene to decide who should start. Also, it is important to note that all these players are extremely talented and would easily grace the starting lineup of any premier league team. Thus, it is vital to ensure that all these players get enough playing time. Otherwise, they would not be satisfied and may start to look for a move away from Arsenal.

2 BIG reasons to hope Schneiderlin WILL join Arsenal

There is a piece of Arsenal transfer news doing the rounds today which suggests that Arsene Wenger has given up his transfer pursuit of a top quality defensive midfielder, even though it was previously thought that the manager was looking to sign either Sami Khedira, Lars Bender or Morgan Schneiderlin.

The story goes that Wenger is going to rely on what he has already got in Arteta, Flamini and Diaby, while also getting Jack Wilshere to drop back and take on a more disciplined role in the Arsenal team. I don’t really see this happening, because it is the attacking and creative side of the game where Wilshere is best.

Which Defensive Midfielder do Arsenal fans want?

Since Patrick Viera left for Juventus in 2005, Arsenal fans have always wished for someone of his stature to protect our back four. Over the years, Arsenal has been linked with countless defensive midfielders. It was almost as if every single decent defensive midfielder was linked with a move to Arsenal.

That is how pressing the issue was as Arsenal were repeatedly exposed to quick counter attacking opposition. The fact that Arsenal were a team that is usually on the offense just made us more vulnerable to the counter attack.

Are Arsenal ready to ditch Arteta?

For the past three seasons since Mikel Arteta has signed for Arsenal, he is always seen as a leader of the pack. His amazing charisma and outspoken character has led to him being one of the frequent stand in captains for the benched Thomas Vermaelen. Of the field, he is one of the most gentlemanly footballers on the planet. This can be seen from how graciously he takes his rejection from the Spanish national team. On the field, he is one of the most solid midfielders in the premier league. Mikel Arteta, over the years, has consistently finished near the top for pass completion rate. This is an essential part to Arsenal’s game and thus directly leading to the frequent fielding of Arteta in the starting lineup of Arsenal.

Arsenal want Bender and Giroud wants the Wenger Trophy!

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is preparing a summer bid for the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, Lars Bender. Wenger is said to have been tracking the defensive midfielder for a while and is said to be keen on signing the German. Lars is the twin brother of Sven Bender, who currently plays for Borussia Dortmund. He is known for his tireless work rate and incredible stamina. The German would add steel to an Arsenal midfield that has gone soft in recent years.

Lars Bender should only be a backup target for Arsenal

According to the German media, Arsenal have had their opening bid of 23 million euros for German International Lars Bender rejected by his club Bayer Leverkusen. Honestly, I don’t think there is any truth in Arsenal bidding that amount for the player, however I feel that there definitely is interest in him from Arsenal and so its worthy thinking about if we actually need him.

Quite simply, I think the answer to that question is YES! Lars Bender and not his brother Sven Bender who plays for Borussia Dortmund, has been an ever present figure for his team and has attracted interest from across the top European clubs, ever since becoming one of Leverkusen’s most important players.
