DONE DEAL! Arsenal star heading for Serie A transfer switch

While he has always been a popular player among the Arsenal fans, Lukas Podolski has had a much hareder time convincing Arsene Wenger that he deserves to play regularly. And that is despite the fact that the Gunners have not really made full use of our possession and creativity and the Germany international is by far the best finisher in the squad.

The striker’s frustration has been building all season and after he scored right at the beginning and then again at the end of our 4-1 pasting of Galatasaray in Turkey, only to drop to the bench again for the next game, it seemed like the last straw.

Italian striker Mario Balotelli has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer in what would be a return to the Premier League for the former Manchester City front man.

Although Arsenal are in desperate need of a striker to support Olivier Giroud next season, Balotelli would not be a smart move. Super Mario has caused problems at every club he has been at including his current team AC Milan.

There is no doubting that Balotelli has lots of ability. On his day he is one of the most exciting players anywhere in the world, the problem is, those days don’t seem to come around too often any more.

Milan ready to sell Balotelli – over to you Arsenal…

More and more of the reports about Arsenal transfer news in the media recently have involved the Italy international striker Mario Balotelli. But the transfer looked like it was going to be difficult when we first heard about it, with the young striker certainly having a strong mind of his own and his club AC Milan being notoriously stubborn.

Milan was the 23-year old Italian” boyhood club, which is why he went there from Man City in the first place. It certainly seems to have helped him as well, with much fewer reports of his off field antics and much more consistency on the pitch. But Mario hinted last week that his future was up in the air rather than insisteing on staying, so that was a big step.

Ricardo Montolivo snubs Arsenal for AC Milan

Long time Arsenal target Ricardo Montolivo has dealt Arsene Wenger another blow as he has agreed a deal with Italian giants AC Milan. According to TalkSport, Montolivo has already agreed upon a contract with the Italians and he’s due to join them in the summer.

Montolivo’s contract with Fiorentina was running out this summer, and being unwilling to extend his deal with the Florence club Milan will get him for free. The talented midfielder has been a target for Arsenal’s
Arsene Wenger for a few years now, but despite the massive number of rumours which have been linking the two parties, a deal never materialize.

Wenger – Nobody can match Arsenal’s pace at the moment

Arsene Wenger was happy with the Arsenal performance (if not the final outcome) against AC Milan in midweek, and thinks that his team has finally shown that they can compete with the best.

It has taken some time for it all to come together, but now they can go on and make sure of a Champions League place in the final months of the season.

“We can play at a pace that, at the moment, maybe nobody else can sustain,” Wenger said. “When we are on our roles that is good for the morale of the team.

Wenger wants AC Milan to be punished

Arsene Wenger saw his team fight back and come very close to getting the needed 4-0 win over AC Milan last night, but the Arsenal manager is still smarting over the disgusting state of the San Siro pitch during the first leg.

Both wings of the pitch had been dug up and relaid just days before Arsenal were due to play and it made the actual proper playing area available much smaller than Arsenal expected. Wenger believes this contributed to the 4-0 defeat and thinks that the Italian giants should be punished by footballs governing powers.

Wenger – We Have The Quality To Believe We Can Do It

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger refuses to give up the chase for a Champions League qualification saying that even if the Gunners have a very small chance they have to believe in it and make the most of it.

Arsene Wenger’s players proved they have what it takes to make spectacular comebacks against Liverpool and Tottenham in the last two games, but we also have to admit that the defensive part of the team wasn’t as good as it should have been, and Milan will take advantage of those errors if they will occur again.

Wenger not happy with the Milan pitch but promises to attack

AC Milan have relaid the San Siro pitch this week and Arsene Wenger is not very impressed with their work, in fact he believes they have made it worse not better!

He said: “They relaid it on Monday, we’re playing Wednesday. So it’s terrible. Out of respect for the supporters it should be a better pitch. I think they wanted to make the pitch better but they’ve made it worse. They told me it will be much better tonight. It has been relaid down the flanks very recently and you know what it is like when you have just laid a pitch like that. It takes time to settle and become flat. At the moment, it isn’t.”

Brazilian Star Striker Not Available For Arsenal

According to Milan’s manager Massimiliano Allegri there’s no way Brazilian striker Pato could leave the Italian club during the winter break regardless of the outcome the Tevez transfer talks will have.

This reaction comes after many rumours appeared which were linking the striker with a possible move to Arsenal.

“Pato is a Milan player and I hope that he remains here for at least the rest of the season.

“I’m sure he will stay with us.

“A vent in the newspapers can happen, but he remains an important player for us.”
