Wenger – Newcastle will give you a big game, but Arsenal will win

Arsene Wenger is preparing for Arsenal’s Monday night meeting with Newcastle, and he is confident that the Gunners will win if they carry on playing at their excellent recent level of performances.

He was asked if he was surprised that Alan Pardew’s side are challenging for the European positions this season, and he is, and he isn’t!

“You could say that I am surprised if you look purely at the number of points they have. They were not expected there,” Wenger said.

“They have bought very well in a very efficient way. Some players have made a name now who were completely unknown at the start of the season.

Theo Walcott admits he has been out of form but vows to improve

The Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has been roundly criticised by the Arsenal fans lately for being mostly anonymous as the Gunners lost three League games in a row, and he says he doesn’t need the fans to tell him when the quality of his play drops as he knows it himself.

He said: “I just want to play my game and show people what I can do,”

“I am the best judge of my performance, not anyone else. I wasn’t happy with my last few games but hopefully now I can try to get back to a level I should be at.
