The Queens Park Ranger manager Harry Redknapp has admitted that it would be difficult for the Hoops to retain the services of Loic Remy this summer. The France International is currently on a season-long loan at Newcastle United but has 3 years left on his QPR contract. It is understood that Arsenal want Remy, and Redknapp said the London club could take advantage of a buyout clause in Remy’s contract. When asked if Arsenal had made an offer, ‘Arry said, ‘I don’t know the answer to that to be honest.
Why is it always Arsenal that seem to be involved in these never ending transfer fiascos? Normally its endless speculation on players leaving the club, such as Fabregas, Nasri and Van Persie. Whilst we also experience the odd piece of speculation that persistently links a player with Arsenal, only for us to miss out to one of our rivals, Juan Mata anyone? And this summer looks set to be no different, despite Arsenal’s change in attitude.
It’s being reported once again that Arsenal are set to step up their interests and sign QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar once he returns from the Confederations Cup tournament in Brazil. But how many times have we read this report, it’s becoming annoying rather than exciting. To be fair he has been away on International duty and so this would of hampered any potential deal that was in the process for the time being, however the persistent links do not help the transfer go through, all it seems to do is get a lot of Arsenal fans excited, only to be let down when the transfer never comes off.
Arsenal target Julio Cesar doesn’t seem keen on joining the Gunners this summer because he has been repeatedly asked by journalists and associates where he will be next season to which he has claimed that he won’t be joining the North London club.
Cesar has been QPR’s best player all season despite not being able to save them from relegation. He has been injured at times and Robert Green has had a fantastic season when called upon but the Brazilian has been nearly immaculate in goal.
Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has admitted the fact that Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere’s absence was vital for England – who saw themselves knocked out by an Italy which the manager didn’t see as favorites.
Jack has been out for the whole season, and it seems that the Gunner will be back in due time for the start of next season, but Redknapp seems to think that he was the missing key from England’s Euro squad.
‘It was almost complete dominance, and to be fair, I didn’t see that coming. I didn’t particularly rate this Italy side.’
The Easter Holidays just got even better for Arsenal fans. After the Gunners fantastic win over Man City it has been followed by Tottenham’s home defeat by Norwich City which has given Arsenal a cushion over their arch-rivals.
Harry Redknapp has now finally realised that Tottenham are now unlikely to finish in Third Place and are now even going to struggle to finish in the fourth Champions League position.
“We have not been in bad form the last few weeks, but today was a setback. We had a bad day.” Redknapp said. “We were a bit flat. I thought their front two, especially Grant Holt, bullied us a bit.
The Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has attacked Arsenal’s goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny after the recent statements the Pole made regarding Arsenal’s chase to get past Tottenham in the Premier League.
According to Redknapp, although Szczesny is a good goalkeeper he should focus more on football and try keeping his mouth shut when it comes to talking rubbish about other teams in the Premier League.
“Szczesny says he is coming to get Tottenham? Oh yeah, yeah, he does have a lot to say, Szczesny, doesn’t he?” Redknapp said.
