So far this January transfer window, there haven’t been as many different players to link Arsenal with as usual, as the media either seem to have remained quiet or Wenger isn’t looking to do business at all. But regardless of the fact, two players that have been heavily in this window are two young players with exceptional talent.
Arsenal’s manager might be close to bringing in Rennes’ midfielder Yann M’Vila, as French club Rennes’ general manager Pierre Dreossi has admitted that the two clubs are still in negotiations over the French international’s signature.
Believed to be over, the deal might still go through, and it seems that Arsene Wenger was once again a master of dissimulation, as he managed to bring M’Vila’s fee down by declaring a month back that Arsenal’s interest in the defensive midfielder has ended. His statement also drove speculation linking Chelsea and Barcelona with M’Vila away, and now Wenger might snatch him at a cut price.
We can now say that Rennes’ midfielder Yann M’Vila is a Gunner after the defensive midfielder publically spoke about his interest to join Arsene Wenger’s squad.
We know that players usually don’t do such things until the deal is almost complete, but M’Vila spoke about Arsenal’s negotiations with his club Rennes, and declared that if the two clubs will agree upon a transfer fee, the deal will go through because he’s eager to play in the Premiership, and even more eager to play at Arsenal.
“I have heard Arsenal are interested in me. I like Arsenal and I like the Premier League.
It is constantly being rumoured that the next big Arsenal arrival will be the Rennes’ defensive midfielder Yann M’Vila, but the situation is still very mysterious given the lack of official statements.
We all know that Arsene Wenger has spoken on many occasions about M’Vila’s incredible skills and how he could be helpful for the club, and the French midfielder also spoke about a possible interest in a move to Arsenal, but nothing more.
“If it is Wenger who asks you then of course that changes things.”, said M’Vila earlier this season.
The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reached an agreement with German striker Lukas Podolski according to today’s papers, which also say that the Frenchman is now aiming for one of the best young French players.
The Rennes’ midfielder Yann M’Vila has been watched by Wenger for two whole seasons now, and despite the bid the manager sent Rennes’ way last summer, the 21-year-old has yet to make a move away from the French club.
Arsenal’s top target Yann M’Vila snubbed the rumours which were saying that this is surely his last season with the French club Rennes, as the interest for him increases.
M’Vila was wanted by Arsenal ever since last summer but his transfer has yet to be accomplished because the French officials want to get more for him after he’ll play for his national team squad at the EURO 2012.
Despite Arsenal’s interest in him both in the summer and in January, and despite other clubs interest like Real Madrid, Barcelona or Liverpool, the defensive midfielder stated: “I never stated it would be my last season at Rennes.”
Arsenal are looking for the services of Argentine defensive midfielder Lucas Biglia according to his agent Enzo Montepaone, and are expected to submit a bid for him in January.
The 25-year-old Anderlecht defensive midfielder is one of Arsenal’s targets according to his agent, but Fiorentina or Milan have the upper edge.
“I know that Fiorentina officials went to Belgium to have a look at him and that they spoke to Anderlecht about trying to sign him in January,” Montepaone told calciomercato.com.
“Interest from AC Milan? Yes, I can confirm that there has been in the past, but there has never been anything concrete.
