Forget about Fabregas – says Arsenal legend

Ray Parlour spent 14 years at Arsenal, winning three League titles and four FA Cups (and one European Cup-Winners Cup and a League Cup!), so he is entitled to have an opinion about the club in my eyes.

And his opinion is that we should NOT be looking to bring our old captain Cesc Fabregas back to the club if we are really looking to challenge for the title next season. He thinks we should be concentrating on the forward positions.

‘The problem with Fabregas is where do you put him in the team?” Parlour said.

Arsenal’s Morata transfer at risk from Napoli and Madrid

Alvaro Morata is reported as being one of the top transfer targets for Arsenal this summer. The under 21 international for Spain is widely believed to have accepted that his future lies away from the Santiago Bernabeu, despite having been a Real Madrid fan since childhood and being desperate to make his mark there.

Even though the Spanish giants sold Higuain and Callejon last season, Morata’s chances have become even fewer and if it was not for the injury to his young team mate Jese Rodriguez, Morata would hardly have featured in La Liga. As it is, the young striker has only managed the equivalent of four full games, so his return of six goals is very impressive.

Arsenal MUST forget about Suarez and support Giroud

Since the news broke from Liverpool owner John W Henry yesterday morning that Arsenal’s bid of £40 million plus one pound did meet and in fact exceed the buy out clause, I’ve seen numerous questions raised. Would Arsenal be in a better position had we signed Suarez? Why didn’t we go for another striker after Suarez failed?

I’ve even seen, `could Arsenal take legal action against Liverpool for their refusal to let Suarez go?` And although I cannot be certain in an answer with any of those questions, despite having a very strong opinion on some of them, I think the main thing Arsenal need to do is forgot about this for now.

Team news and Preview for Arsenal v Liverpool – Crunch Time!

Aside from Tottenham, Arsenal haven’t had a really tough game in the Premier League this season. But with a home game against Liverpool and an away game at Old Trafford next weekend, we’ll finally see if we have what it takes to be champions this season.

Liverpool are in some really good form at the moment thanks to the brilliance of the Sturridge and Suarez partnership. But we are also in some pretty good form and being the home team, we have to be favourites to take all three points.

Lewandowski proved why Arsenal should sign him up!

Arsenal were linked with a whole host of players over the course of the summer including several strikers. This included the likes of Wayne Rooney and Luis Suarez, which according to reports over the summer were deals that Arsenal would have been capable of pulling off. The Gunners were also linked with Karim Benzema, a former teammate of current Arsenal starlet Mesut Ozil, but that was another move that never materialised.

One man that seemingly managed to escape Arsene Wenger’s eyeline is Borussia Dortmund and Polish international striker Robert Lewandowski; however after a good game against Arsenal in midweek, I wouldn’t be surprised to hear the clubs interest pick up in the near future.

Arsenal encouraged to bid for Benzema!

Arsenal spent a long time during the summer transfer window trying to secure a deal for a top quality striker, however largely failed down to the high demands both from players and clubs respectively. It wasn’t all bad news as Arsenal didn’t walk away empty handed, managing to secure the signing of Mesut Ozil, however despite the fantastic news, many were still of course left disappointed that we didn’t sign a striker.

Just how realistic are Arsenal transfer links with Draxler and Kalou?

Arsenal have been linked with a whole host of players over the course of this summer, from the likes of Real Madrid’s Angel Di Maria and Mesut Ozil, all the way down to some unknown French midfielder from Ligue 2 side Angers FC, but the recent rumours that stand out from the others are links for both Julian Draxler and Salomon Kalou.

Now firstly, the main suggested players still feature the quadruple of Real Madrid players we seem to have an interest in, in Karim Benzema, Mesut Ozil, Angel Di Maria and Iker Casillas. All would be fantastic signings and imagine if we brought all four into the club by the end of the window.

It’s trolley dash time again at Arsenal but for Who?

The Arsenal game against Villa two days ago was a shock to our system. Even with the thin and arguably talent lacking squad we had, nobody expected something quite as shambolic and humiliating as that to happen. A 3-1 loss to a side that last year was fighting relegation is a serious shout out to say that this Arsenal team is not just in drastic trouble but it also makes everyone associated with Arsenal fear for the future. What this calls for is desperation and panic! Roll on the Wenger signings.
