Arsenal defender on his way to Italy

It seems that the Arsenal defender Johan Djourou is listening to the advice given by his national team manager and has instructed his agent to find him a team that will give him regular first team football.

His agent, Flavio Ferraria, responded to rumours that Napoli was a possible destination for the fourth-choice Arsenal centre-back.

Ferraria said: “Can Djourou join Napoli? It’s certainly possible, especially as we will be in Italy next week for a series of appointments,”

“At the moment Napoli are not on the list of appointments, but everything is possible. If he leaves the Premier League, then he will play in Italy or Spain.

Vertonghen – Tottenham is not the only interested Premier League club

The Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen has made it clear that he is moving from Holland to the Premier League this summer and has not been reluctant to make it clear that Arsenal is his preferred destination, although it is uncertain that Wenger is willing to buy yet another defender.

Recently it has seemed that Tottenham are the new favourites to sign the Belgian international, and although Vertonghen is happy to admit that he is talks with Harry Redknapp, he is at pains to announce that White Hart Lane is not his only possible destination.

De Boer: Vertonghen has seen the light!

It has now become clear that Ajax’s defensive star Jan Vertonghen will leave the Eredivisie in the summer, after he has consistently expressed his interest in joining the Premier League.

Ajax’s manager Frank De Boer admits that it will be hard to lose Vertonghen who is now one of the most wanted players on Wenger’s shortlist. According to the Dutchman it will be very hard to replace the Belgian international, but it’s the right move for him.

“Jan has seen the light,” said De Boer. “Not only on the pitch, but away from it.

Arsenal rumour roundup – M’Vila, Hazard, Hernanes, Vertonghen and Alvarez

It’s been a busy week rumour-wise in Arsenal’s case, as the English giants were linked with a bucket-load of players, some of which might even be seen wearing an Arsenal jersey next season.

Probably two of the most wanted players both by Wenger and the fans are French Ligue 1 talents Yann M’Vila and Eden Hazard. The first one’s transfer got a bit trickier according to this week’s press as Italian side Inter Milan seem to have taken an intense interest in Wenger’s target and are ready to fight for his signature.

Arsenal rumour roundup – Adil Rami, Hazard, Vertonghen, Eriksen and Yilmaz

The Arsenal rumour mill seems to be building up to the upcoming transfer window, and as Sol Campbell has openly announced that Arsene Wenger needs to bring in top players to convince Robin Van Persie to stay at the Emirates.

The ongoing Eden Hazard affair continues and it has been revealed that the Man United boss Alex Ferguson has taken a personal interest in the young Belgian. The likelihood of Arsenal getting Hazard seems to be receding into the distance.

Another interesting Arsenal rumour is that Wenger is chasing the Valencia defender Adil Rami. The 26 year-old is certainly class, but I personally think that Jan Vertonghen is the most likely defender to come to the Gunners.

Brilliant Belgian Star Desperate To Join Arsenal!

The Arsenal transfer target Jan Vertonghen has spoken yet again about his interest in joining the Gunners in the summer if the Premiership side will be able to agree on terms with the club he currently plays for, Ajax.

According to the defensive star he already went to visit Arsenal’s stadium in the second Champions League leg against AC Milan, but he didn’t sign with the Gunners yet and Wenger didn’t speak of any potential deal with Ajax.

“I have instructed my agent carefully. He knows which clubs I want to join, and Arsenal are one of them,” he said.

Another Fail For Arsenal As Star Belgian Also Snubs Offer

Arsenal target Jan Vertonghen doesn’t seem very interested in the possibility of leaving his current club Ajax Amsterdam in spite of the numerous rumours which were linking him to Arsenal and other hot teams around Europe including Premiership Gunner rival Tottenham Hotspur.

“Everyone knows that I have ambitions, but my ultimate desire is not to go away just yet,” he said.

“I will stay for this season – and it could be that I stay at Ajax until my contract runs out in 2013.”
