There is a theory that the Arsenal and Germany international playmaker Mesut Ozil may never play for the Gunners again. According to media reports, the 25-year old is thinking about calling time on his career with Arsenal and leaving the English Premier League altogether.

Ozil is already set to miss two or three months with the knee ligament damage that caused him to be sent home from the current international round of games, so if the Arsenal transfer rumour in the Daily Mail is true, Ozil may have played his last game for Arsenal.

The report claims that the club record signing has grown increasingly fed up with Arsene Wenger’s decision to play him wide on the left or right flanks rather than in his preferred central position behind the forward line. And they also report that he is being tracked by the German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, with Pep Guardiola keen to bring Ozil home.

So the next few months could be crucial for Arsenal and the player, as Wenger has to decide what to with the man he paid over £40 million for just over a year ago and who he has always backed to succeed for us in the BPL. And it may depend on how well the likes of Cazorla can do in the German’s absence. Do you think it is time for the Arsenal boss to accept that this is one transfer that has not worked?
