Top Arsenal and Tottenham striker target admits Premiership desire

The prolific Spanish striker Fernando Llorente has been instrumental in helping Athletico Bilbao overachieve this season by reaching the Finals of the Europa League and the Copa Del Rey, which has made many Premiership teams step up and take notice.

Both Arsenal and Tottenham have been strongly linked wth a move for the giant 27 year-old after he managed to knock in 29 goals in 53 appearances for Bilbao this season, and he has told reporters that he is tempted by a move to the Premier League.

Llorente said: “I might end up playing in England, who knows? At the moment I’m at Athletic Bilbao, but who knows later.

“Xabi Alonso and Fernando Torres have told me about the immense respect that the fans have for their players there.”

Llorente has already scored seven goals for Spain and with David Villa injured he could get a big chance to impress further at the up-coming Euros. If Robin Van Persie finally decides to leave the Emirates then surely Llorente would be a more than able replacement?

  1. “Athletico Bilbao” get it right mate! he says in his quote “Athletic Bilbao” Anyway if you no anything about Spanish football than you will no how hard its to drive a Basque out of Bilbao, they won’t work up a fuss to leave and Athletic don’t need money, (why would they sell there no.1 hitman, its not like they can go out and sign a other one). They wont sell for anything less than his minimum release clause, where talking around €45 million (same for Javi Martinez and Iker Muniain). Wenger is not paying that type of money for anyone and Tottenham! well they simply don’t have that type of money. Final reasons to end this non-story unless Man U or Man City offer all the money is that Athletic are looking to build on this season by trying to sign Beñat Etxebarria and Aritz Aduriz to there very young team with players already there such as Javi Martinez, Iker Muniain, Ander Herrera, Iturraspe, Jon Aurtenetxe, Ibai Gomez, Markel Susaeta and Oscar De Marcos. With time and at the reigns of Bielsa they can push for top 3 and win cups, much will the Sevilla of 3/4 years ago.
