Top boss tells Arsenal to forget Champions League

We all know that Arsenal are right up the creek after losing the first two games in our Champions League group to the unfancied Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos from Greece. But the nature of football being what it is and Arsenal having pulled off bigger comebacks in the past, Arsenal fans are still hoping that we might actually have a paddle.

It might be a small paddle but if used right it could just get the Gunners back down the proverbial creek. Not according to Carlo Ancelotti though, and this top manager does know what he is talking about after winning the European cup three times as a manager and twice as a player.

As reported in The Mirror, the Italian who is currently between jobs has expressed his belief that the back to back games against Bayern Munich will not allow Arsenal to recover and qualify. He also pulls no punches in his assessment of why the team are in this situation; because Arsene Wenger and the players simply took the first two games for granted.

Ancelotti declared, “Arsenal are practically out because they must now face Bayern twice.

“The Gunners underestimated Dinamo Zagreb. Because of Dinamo’s CV, Arsenal miscalculated the challenge facing them. Dinamo had not won in the Champions League for many years and this affected Arsenal’s concentration. I believe that Dinamo were underestimated not only by the coach but also by the players.

“I saw impressive pace up front with Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil. It’s this weapon that can upset Bayern. But I still think it will be very hard for Arsenal.”

So is the former Chelsea boss right about our chances or can Wenger and the Gunners prove him wrong?
