Top striker told he WILL play for Arsenal… at some point

There has been hundreds of Arsenal rumours linking the German striker Lukas Podolski with a move away from the Emirates this January, especially as the player himself has not been shy about telling the world how unhappy he is with being on the Arsenal bench for most of the season.

But after the winger played the full 90 minutes against Galatasasy this week, scoring twice, it seems that Wenger has decided to reassure Podolski that he still has a future with the Gunners. Wenger said on Arsenal.com: “He’s getting back into good form and there’s a lot of competition up front,”

“We have injuries in midfield and at the back but up front we have all the players available so I can rotate a little bit game by game. He will get his opportunities.

“I can understand the frustrations of the players who are top quality and don’t play. But as well that is part of the job.

“You always have to be ready when you can help the team and the club. I cannot play all of the forwards so I have to make decisions.”

In my opinion I think that means that he WILL NOT be playing Podolski in this weekends game against Newcastle, but he will get his opportunities. Yes but probably that will be when we are in the last ten minutes of a game when we have already won the points (which definitely hasn’t happened much this season!).

I can bet that Podolski will be sitting on the bench this weekend, and when Wenger takes off Giroud and uts on Danny Welbeck the German will be seething ion the bench wondering what he has to do to prove to Wenger he is worth playing now and again…
