With all their French players, Newcastle United have been likened to Arsenal in recent years, while their manager Alan Pardew is second only to Arsene Wenger in the table of longest serving managers in the Premier League. Perhaps that is why the Prof sees the north-east club as the ideal place for young Gunners to go on loan to.

Or at least, that is what it looks like, with the media reporting that two of the young players from Arsenal could be playing under Pardew in the season to come. It now looks certain that Arsenal will complete the signing of their French right back Mathieu Debuchy this week, with the player himself confirming the move, so it sort of makes sense that our English right back Carl Jenkinson could be heading in the opposite direction, according to a Daily Mail report.

Although Arsenal will still need a back-up for Debuchy, there is the young Spaniard Hector Bellerin who is ready to step up from the academy, while 23-year old Jenkinson needs to be playing all the time for us to see whether he really can make the grade at Arsenal, so a loan deal to a Premier League club seems ideal.

The other one I am not so sure about. According to the Newcastle Chronicle, our young Costa Rican striker Joel Campbell could also be heading to Newcastle on loan. I really thought he had at least earned the chance to show Arsenal fans what he could do in the red and white, but maybe a spell at another BPL club, with less pressure on him, might be for the best. What do you think, Arsenal fans?

  1. We are also taking a 29 year old eruption right back on loan, so Jenks to Newcastle on loan looks a good idea. But if they want another player, I would be pushing the likes of coquelin, miquel, sanogo, ryo, afobe, gnabry ahead of campbell.

  2. To be honest Im not really sure that Campbell is all that good yet. Well arsenal good anyway. He still needs a lot of improving and an EPl loan seems his best and last chance to show it. He was ok in the world cup def not as good as the media blow up. Hopefully after that he may be ready but he ain’t now I’m afraid

  3. I think Asene wenger should give campbell a chance now. he has proven himself on the greatest stages the champions league and the world cup, what other challenge is there? we should reap the benefits of his development now!!

  4. if campball is constantly shipped from team to team he will be off ,and we will lose another talent .
jenkinson should stay at arsenal. he has done a superb job for us when called upon to do so .
if the signing of debuchy means loosing them then forget it .
the deal should be cash only .let pardew find his own players .
if not then give us serge aureir instead ,
remember we need depth and numbers in the team so we dont end up like last year ,

    1. well said john we have the money .why do we not just buy him outright.
jenkinson does a great job in the same role, if we let him go we only have to buy another right back and whats the point of that ?
