Wenger – Arsenal are UNLIKELY to buy in January

1

There is very little that Arsenal fans want for Xmas, except maybe a top, top, top class defensive midfielder and a couple of better defenders, but Arsene Wenger has now dashed all their hopes of being rewarded by Santa when he announced that it is very unlikely that the Gunners will be spending lots of money in January.

“If everybody is fit and available, we don’t need to delve into transfer market, but it depends if Koscielny is fit or not.” Wenger was quoted as saying in the Express.

“There will be little activity. The big clubs want to keep their players,”

“It is quiet in the first three weeks but it will be more frenetic in the last few days.

“The January transfer market is not usally busy.”

We all KNOW that it is difficult to buy players in the January transfer window Arsene, but it is also clear that you yourself FAILED to fill the known holes in the squad when you had the whole three months of summer to do it.

It seems to me that Wenger’s personal transfer window only last for the last few days, when he tries to get bargains that other clubs didn’t want, so perhaps he should start shopping just a little earlier every year, or maybe employ another person like David Dein to do the negotiating, while Le Prof gets on with trying to manage the team a bit more successfully!

  1. Obviously it’s about numbers, we are already 7 players over for the champions league squad and 6 players over for the epl. Obviously the majority of these are reserve players, but in the CL we are already looking at having to delist a first team player from the 17 man A list so that giroud can return.
