Wenger – Of course Arsenal can finish above Tottenham!
The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that he never doubted that his team could finish above Tottenham, even when everyone else was writing off the Gunners chances of even staying in the Top Four.
Wenger said: “It is still possible to finish above Tottenham if we keep our run going. Why not?
“But before the game it was supposed to be ‘impossible’.
“I always thought it was possible but it would be down to consistency.
“Everybody in the Premier League can lose points. And if we continue to play like that, then why not?”
If Arsenal played like that every game then they wouldn’t even be talking about third place, they would be talking about winning the title.
It was a fantastic day for Arsenal fans and players alike, and hopefully this will have restored their confidence to go on a winning run over the next month. And of course we will all be cheering Man Utd on next week!

of course we can catch them and its dependant on consistency and the mentality of players til the final game of the season. The question the arsenal players have got to ask themselves is are they up for it? We have seen over the whole season a mix of performances from individuals and on a few occasions from the whole team where one minute they are very good and in another very poor. Now is the time in the season to get a run going and defend from the front to help the defensive side and also take the chances we create. Be more positive in front of goal and develop the team into a bunch of leaders. We cant rely on one or two players to pull us through the rest of the season. The players have to show like they did yesterday that if they play for each other and get the passing game going they stand a very good chance of catching suprs up. Spurs have a better squad and more experience but this will be the ideal opportunity to demonstrtae that our players have learned from their experiences across the whole season to come good. Also its vital that wenger gets his tactics correct and the team talk at half times is vital.
if the committment is there and players dont go missin in games we have a chance and thats all we can ask for.
