Wenger – We will do anything to keep Robin Van Persie

10

Arsene Wenger saw his captain Robin Van Persie save Arsenal yet again as he scored both goals in the 2-1 comeback win over Liverpool at Anfield yesterday, and he re-iterated after the game how far he intended to go to try and keep the Dutchman at Arsenal next season.

Wenger said: “I must say we will do anything to keep him.”

“I cannot say much more because I have said that many times. I am very proud that he has grown after having seen him arriving here timid, and today being the player and leader he has become.

“He is playing under big pressure in every game because he knows he has to score. He has shown exceptional development, not only as a player but as a human being. He is up there with the best players in the world.”

Robin’s contribution to Arsenal’s season just cannot be emphasised too much and how can anyone put a value on that. Arsenal just have to pay absolutely anything that Van Persie’s asks for to keep him at the club, because if they don’t, somebody else surely will.

  1. I don’t think any footballer should be paid 200k a week but if Rooney is on that RvP deserves it. Hanging on to him is more important than any transfer activity in the summer. I agree with Mick, he’s up there with Messi and Ronaldo as one of the very best in the world.

  2. just read up about it and Rooney is on 250k a week. You just couldn’t argue with the board investing the transfer kitty in a new contract for RvP at this time but I hope he’s not going to demand as much as that.

  3. F**king just give him whatever he wants…………..u simply cant buy talent like this……..if he says 250,000 …give him…..F**king whatevr he wants……

  4. Its not about saying it, but doing it. Its going to be incredible to keep him @ Arsenal.
