Wenger’s strong Arsenal XI to avoid any Doncaster slip-up

A quick look at the recent results, as well as the fact that Arsenal are one of the big boys in the Premier League while our Carabao Cup opponents tonight, Doncaster, are struggling in League One after being promoted last season, tells you that the Gunners are huge favourites to go through to the next round.

We do not even have to play in the unfamiliar surroundings of the Keepmoat stadium but will have the advantage of the perfect playing surface of the Emirates, but stranger things have happened and despite a morale boosing draw away to Chelsea after two wins against Bournemouth and Cologne, Arsenal are not exactly full of confidence or in top form, so I think Wenger will have to field a decent Arsenal team tonight.

The fact that certain players are in real need of playing time helps the boss as well, so I expect to see the likes of Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott tonight, while Jack Wilshere is sure to get another chance to
impress in the middle, with the energy of Elneny alongside him.

There will be some young Gunners on the pitch as well, with Holding, Maitland-Niles and perhaps Reiss Nelson the most likely. It should be a good blend of youth and experience and barring a real disaster we will still be way too strong gfor the League One strugglers.
