It will take a string of events to go the right way for Arsenal, but the amazing transfer of Karim Benzema from Real Madrid could actually be back on soon. I really hope it happens, because with Alexis Sanchez already signed, the arrival of the France international would surely give Arsenal the single most deadly strike force in the Premier League. And with our talented midfield and miserly defence, that would probably see us Gooners celebrating the Premier League title next May, if not a double.

So here is how the transfer that was being written about in Arsenal transfer rumours at the start of the summer, could actually still happen. The reports linking us with Benzema died away after the 26-year old, who scored 24 goals for his club last season before having a very good World Cup in Brazil, declared himself happy to stay at Real Madrid. But that would soon change if the rumours linking Madrid with a move for Monaco front man Radamel Falcao came true.

And if they do get Falcao, along with his current team mate James Rodriguez, as The Independent are suggesting, they will need to sell a player or two to balance the books. I hope that Arsene Wenger is keeping a close eye on this one and is ready to swoop if the time comes. But how likely is it that Benzema will be an Arsenal player for the coming season?

  1. But you recently said we are not buying a striker since we have Campbell. Are you just sitting there thinking of stuff to guess? 😀

Did you know Sanchez scored more goals in la liga last season than Benzema, and Sanchez was a winger while Benzema was a striker. 😀

    Ironic, right?

Carvalho would be a good signing, he can play central defence too. He is a DM of the purest quality, a real out and out Mascherano type of DM. He completely locks down the midfield.

Strikers are not very available and the ones which are seem to be held off while Wenger watches developments regarding others such as Benzema now. By the last week of the transfer window these players are snapped up and we have the bottom of the barrel to scrape, plus we have to pay silly wages for average players. You should know the routine by now. 😀

Oh yes, the player Wenger wastes his time waiting for signs a new deal with his current club. Arsenal interest and threat is generated to elevate the wage offered by the current club. Arsenal is USED again and as a bonus, we are unable to buy alternative players because we run out of time. 🙂

    What a manager eh?
