The battle between Arsenal and our Premier League rivals Liverpool has not been officially decided yet, and some transfer rumours are even suggesting that Man United are trying to get in on the act. Many of the papers and sports websites in England and Spain, however, reckon that the Gunners are winning or have already won the race for the signature of Alexis Sanchez.

It is no surprise that Liverpool are desperate to have the 25-year old go to Anfield, because they are losing theiur best player, Luis Sanchez, to Barcelona and the Chile international is one of the few players in world football that could replace him.

Not that Sanchez has an unusual taste for human flesh or anything, but he does possess a lot of the qualities that have made Suarez such a hit in the Premier League. Pace, power, an eye for goal, great dribbling skills and the same relentless work rate as Suarez are all in the locker of Sanchez, but his role at Barca did not allow him to really express them, which is one of the reasons he wants to come to the Premier League. His showing for Chile against England this year was hopefully a sign of what Arsenal fans will see in the Premier League, as he tore Roy Hodgson’s team to shreds.

Another main reason is that he wants to be appreciated by his coach and we know what the Arsenal players think of Arsene Wenger. Just like other players like Podolski and Ozil, though, the Chilean forward may take a little time to adapt to the English game, as did Suarez with just 15 league goals in his first season and a half, but when he does, I think he could be as big a player for Arsenal as Bitey Boy was for the scousers. Do you agree?

1 thought on “Why Sanchez could become the Arsenal version of Luis Suarez!!

  1. Agreed. I worry for Suarez though. I think with this impending move to Barcelona he may have bitten off more than he can chew.
