It seems that Joel Campbell will definitely be getting a chance to stake his claim for Arsenal in pre-season, after another impressive performance in Brazil helped Costa Rica reach the quarter finals of the World Cup for the first time in their history.

But one person connected with Arsenal may not be enjoying the 22-year old’s games as much as the rest of us. Yaya Sanogo may just be feeling a bit nervous about his role with the Gunners next season, because there are only so many places in the squad available and there is a good chance it could be just one of the two. The other may find themselves on loan somewhere.

With Arsene Wenger, supposedly, set to spend some serious money in the transfer window and bring in at least one front man, quite possibly two, the two youngsters will be fighting a lot of players for their place, including Giroud, Podolski, Walcott, Gnabry, Chamberlain and Cazorla.

It could easily come down to which of Sanogo and Campbell does best in pre-season, so no pressure lads! Sanogo may have the advantage here, with Campbell probably meeting up late due to his World Cup run, but the Costa Rican will surely be flying high and full of confidence when he does arrive in north London. Which do you think will make the Gunners’ grade?
