World Cup delight will help Arsenal see the REAL Mesut Ozil
If Arsenal are going to build on the success of last year, with an FA cup to end the trophy drought and a prolonged spell at the top of the Premier League table, we are going to need our key Gunners to perform at the top of their game. A few less injuries would help as well, of course.
So the form of Mesut Ozil could be crucial as to whether we Arsenal lifting more silverware this season or not. The Ozil who looked tired and dispirited midway through last season is not going to help us much, which is why it was great to see the German playmaker put on a much better showing at the Maracana stadium in Rio De Janeiro last night.
The 25-year old Gunner worked his socks off and had a real influence on the game before coming off at the end of extra time. His passing, movement and running with the ball were top notch and he produced two great chances for his team, at least one of which should have resulted in a goal. Mesut was clearly delighted, as the following Tweets reveal.
He wrote, “world champions!!! what an amazing feeling!”
And, “Greatest day of my life!”
Ozil will be having a holiday before returning to pre-season training with his Arsenal team mates, but he should arrive in great spirits and high on confidence, and that could just make the difference for us this season!!
