Okay so it may not have been the full fat version of the World cup, but you would still have to say that being voted as the best player in the tournament involving the best 24 teams in the world at your age level is worthy of a lot of credit.

That is just what happened to Kelechi Nwakali after he helped the under 17 side of Nigeria to lift the World Cup in Chile earlier this year. If you had used your Matchbook bonus code to bet on them you could have made a lot of money! The young Nwakali capped his excellent tournament with three goals and three assists so it is hardly a surprise to hear that some big football clubs are interested in signing him.

His older brother is already on the books at Manchester City and Kelechi has already had a trial there, but it is another of Arsenal´s Premier League rivals Chelsea that are said to be the club most keen on completing his transfer. According to a report in the Nigerian media though, Nwakali would much prefer a move to north London because he is a big fan of the way the Gunners play the game under our manager Arsene Wenger.

The talented youngster said, “I will love to play for Arsenal. They are the Premier League club I will like to play for them because they play the best football in the world.”

It looks like he will be signing for some club, probably in the EPL, when the January transfer window opens, but will it be Arsenal?
