I am not exactly doing cartwheels here, because Arsenal are still in a terrible situation at the minute, but we are ready to pounce on the smallest piece of good news at the minute, and worry it like a dog with a bone. Anyway, after being decimated with injuries at the worst possible time, Arsenal were handed some welcome news on the injury front today.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Kieran Gibbs, Aaron Ramsey, Bacary Sagna and Tomas Rosicky have all been passed fit to travel to Istanbul tomorrow for the Champions League play-off against Fenerbahce on Wednesday, and boy do we need them. Gibbs is the only fir left back at the club, while Sagna is the only player who can step into the breech and cover in the centre of defence. Rosicky was, for me, the best Arsenal player on the pitch against Villa and his talents and experience could prove to be crucial in ensuring us a place in the group stage this season.

Some fans have suggested that dropping out of the Champions League could be the jolt the club needs to make changes, but I feel it would have a devastating effect on the players, after working so hard and ce4lebrating when we snatched fourth place off Tottenham. It could have such a demoralising effect that the season would be ruined.

The latest injury news for Oxlade-Chamberlain is not so good, though. He will definitely miss the Fenerbahce game and it looks like he could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, with some reports suggesting it could be as long as six months. Let’s hope not.
