Although money counts for a lot in modern day football, Arsenal fans are hoping that it does not mean everything. And not just because the Gunners are owned and run by people like Stan Kroenke, Ivan Gazidis and Arsene Wenger who do not seem to be that keen on spending it.

According to a report in the Daily Express, Arsenal could be set to benefit from the fact the Uruguay international striker Edinson Cavani cares more about his career and about enjoying his football than he does about how much he earns on a week by week basis.

Because there is little doubt that he is currently on more money at the French champions PSG with their billionaire owners, than he would be if he came to north London to be a Gunner. According to the paper though, that is exactly what Cavani wants to do and he is ready to take a hit on the transfer fee as well, by asking PSG to drop their asking price from the £50 million they apparently want.

Cavani is said to be desperate to leave his Ligue 1 club, so we will have to wait and see just how desperate and whether Arsenal will be the one to benefit.
