Arsenal’s Podolski deal confirmed…. Now for M’Vila

It is being reported today that Arsenal and Koln have finalized the transfer of Lukas Podolski to the Emirates as the German international hitman doesn’t want to interupt his preparations for the Euros.

The headline in today’s Mirror certainly makes it sound like a done deal. It read: Arsenal clinch £10m signing of German striker Podolski, A fee of £10million has been agreed with FC Koln and Podolski will sign a five-year contract at around £80,000 a week. A national paper doesn’t usually make statements like that unless they are certain that they know the facts.

Arsenal to announce Podolski signing this week

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger started his transfer negotiations early this season in order to avoid incidents like the ones which happened at the end of last season, and according to today’s Mirror Football they managed to sign Podolski after a season long wait.

Wenger spoke about Podolski’s skills very early in the season, and the German starlet also stated his interest in joining the Emirates Stadium side very early in the season, and now the move is rumoured to be complete for an incredibly low transfer fee of £10.9million if we think about the skills the striker holds.

Arsenal confirm Henry loan in time for Leeds game

The rumours that Arsenal would not be able to come to an agreement with the New York Red Bulls in time for Thierry Henry to join the squad for the FA Cup match against Leeds on Monday have proved to be wide of the mark, and the Gunners have officially confirmed that the contract is now in place.

Arsène Wenger said on the official Arsenal site: “I am very happy. It was my desire and Thierry’s desire. We will have Thierry for January and in February. Then he will go back to the United States.
