Arsenal to sign Mandzukic if Lacazette transfer bid fails?

I wonder if the people in charge of the French club Olympique Lyonnais are keeping tabs on the latest Arsenal transfer rumours doing the rounds in the football media. I do hope so, because it could make them more willing to accept our improved but apparently final offer for their striker Alexandre Lacazette.

With Arsene Wenger said to be clear about the fact that this new offer for Lacazette will not be increased and with Metro reporting that the Juventus and Croatia centre forward Mario Mandzukic is next on the Arsenal transfer list and much more available after the Italian club spent a fortune on Gonzalo Higuain, they could soon be saying goodbye to 40 million euros.

I personally think that Lyon are ready to sell their star and they know he wants to join Arsenal but they are trying to maximise their profits. If I am wrong then I would be pretty happy to see us go for Mandzukic, who has won the Champions League and the Club World Cup as well as league titles with three different clubs.

He would be great cover and competition for Olivier Giroud and his size and style of play would mean that he would fit into the system that the Gunners have been using with the big French forward.

Arsenal can give up on Higuain too……

There is Big news for Arsenal in their hunt for a striker today, as it seems that the Gunners are going to miss out on yet another transfer target, this time Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Arsenal have supposedly been chasing Higuain for years now. The Gunners reportedly wanted him when he was leaving Real Madrid and now he seems to be on his way from Napoli, to the Old Lady of Juventus.
Sky Sports are reporting this morning that Higuain is set for a medical with Juventus today ahead of a proposed move to Turin, after terms were finally agreed between the two Italian clubs. The Old Lady was always Arsenal’s main rival for the Argentinean striker, but Arsenal didn’t even seem to put up a fight for the player. It was rumoured that Wenger pulled out of the deal due to a leak of negotiations, however no reputable source had confirmed this, or about a bid from Arsenal, or even that any transfer negotiations were on going. Were The Gunners even interested?

Personally despite Higuain’s obvious quality, I’m not too disappointed to know that the Gunners have missed out. Obviously I want Arsenal to sign that top quality striker we so desperately need, but I don’t think Higuain was the right choice given the ridiculously high transfer fees that are being rumoured. Paying in excess of £60 million (yet to be confirmed) for a player who will be 29 this year does not seem like a good deal in the eyes of Arsenal football club and that money could be spent elsewhere on two very good players with plenty of years left at the highest levels of professional football. £60 million could buy us a Draxler, a Lukaku, a Mahrez, as well as a strong centre back to replace Mertesacker. In my opinion, although we should be disappointed to have lost out on what seems to be a fifth target after Vardy, Morata, Lacazette and Icardi, Higuain may not have been the perfect striker for our fitting.

Arsenal will now have to look elsewhere for a striker and with options running low, it’s starting to seem as if Arsene Wenger may once again fail to do the business he needs in the transfer window. On the bright side, at least Juventus may stop targeting Alexis Sanchez away from Arsenal now that they have their frontman.

The Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has still not found his best form for the Gunners since coming back from a hamstring problem. He did not start the season too well either after helping Chile to win the Copa America last summer and looking jaded for a while.

But he still one of the players that Arsenal fans would be most loath to see leave and I am sure that Arsene Wenger feels the same way. But with The Mirror reporting that two big European clubs are looking to make a transfer bid for Sanchez in the summer, there might not be a lot we can do to keep him.

Both Italy’s Juventus and Spain’s Atletico Madrid could offer the Chilean a better chance of a title and of getting further in the Champions League on recent records and we know that Alexis loves to win and hates to lose. So just how is Wenger going to persuade his star man to stay with the Gunners unless he does something to show the striker that Arsenal are serious about trophy success and not just the balance sheet?

YES! Vidal set to complete £21m Arsenal transfer next week!!

I don’t know if you recall, but there were Arsenal transfer rumours claiming that the Gunners had already agreed the transfer deal with Juventus to bring their Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal to the Premier League, before the 28-year old set off to compete in the Copa America.

So with the south American tournament set to finish this weekend, we should soon know if these early rumours were right or wrong. If you believe the latest report from Metro though, the Arsenal fans will definitely have another big signing to celebrate after securing the services of Petr Cech from Chelsea this week.

The report claims that Vidal is pushing Juventus to accept the bid from the Gunners of just over £21 million and that is likely to make sure that the move goes through. At the minute, however, nothing will happen as he and his international team mates like Alexis Sanchez are fully focused on the final against Argentina which could see them lift the trophy for the first time in history.

So Arsenal could soon have two Copa America champions in our team, perhaps as soon as next week.

DAMN! Arsenal give up on Vidal transfer!

I am hoping, first of all, that the Arsenal transfer news today suggesting that Arsene Wenger is no longer chasing the transfer of the Juventus and Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal is incorrect. The Arsenal boss is famous for keeping his transfer plans from the football media so maybe they are just fishing and the Frenchman is ready to confirm the signing of Vidal once the Copa America is wrapped up next weekend.

But when the source of the news is the Daily Telegraph then it is a lot easier to take it seriously. The paper claims that Wenger has gone off the idea of bringing the all action Chilean to north London because he feels we already have plenty of options in the centre of the pitch with Coquelin, Arteta, Flamini, Ramsey, Wilshere, Cazorla and the Ox.

When you write that list down you think the Frenchman might be right but I was still really hoping to get Vidal as he is a real winner and can play anywhere in midfield. Maybe Wenger is just keeping his options open as the transfer window does not even open until tomorrow and we do not know which Arsenal stars might pick up an injury before it closes at the end of August.

Will we have a new central midfielder before then?

STUNNING Arsenal transfer deal for Vidal CONFIRMED

The reports about Arsenal first looking and at and then closing in on the transfer of the Juventus and Chile international star Arturo Vidal have been growing since the end of last season, and this weekend there has been two different sources claiming that the transfer has already been secured.

Yesterday, as reported by Metro, the journalist who first revealed that the Gunners were going to sign the brilliant forward Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona, Hernan Feler, has told a Chilean radio station that Vidal is ready to come to Arsenal. Apparently a five year contract has been agreed but with the midfielder still involved in the Copa America tournament, I suppose we will have to wait until it ends before he puts pen to paper.

And to add extra weight to this rumour, another Metro report says that sources from Italy have revealed that Arsenal have also agreed a transfer fee of £21 million with the Serie A champions. So it is looking very good for us Gooners and this is all before the transfer window is officially open.

Arsenal ready to make Vidal transfer OFFICIAL

A few weeks ago Arsenal fans got the worrying news that our star player Alexis Sanchez could be called up by the Chile national team before the FA cup final at Wembley next weekend, with FIFA rules saying that clubs must releases their players a certain amount of time before an international tournament.

But even though the Copa America is set to start in Chile less than a month after the final, Arsene Wenger managed to make a deal that would see Alexis play at Wembley before jetting off. And when he comes back he will be bringing his international team mate Arturo Vidal with him, as a Metro report has revealed that the transfer of this talented midfield warrior has been wrapped up even though it will not be abbounced officially until after the tournament of South American countries.

Vidal will be joining his international team mates even later than the Arsenal striker as the Italian champions are set to face Barcelona in the Champions League final, so he could arrive in north London as a treble winner in club football and perhaps a Copa America winner to boot.

Arsenal swoop to SEAL DEAL for Serie A star

If this particular Arsenal transfer rumour is true and the Gunners have fought off strong competition from a number of our Premier League rivals including Liverpool, to seal the transfer of Arturo Vidal from the Italian champions Juventus, then it would make our brilliant forward Alexis Sanchez even more popular with Arsenal fans, if that is possible.

Vidal is an international team mate of Alexis with Chile and the two players also share an agent, so there is a good chance that Alexis was the one to alert Arsene Wenger to the availability of the this tough and talented central midfielder.

A Metro report claims that Arsenal and Juventus have already agreed a transfer fee and with Vidal having also agreed the personal terms of the deal, this transfer could be completed as soon as the window opens officially.

Its OFFICIAL! Palermo confirm Arsenal bid for Dybala!!

Maybe Arsene Wenger wants a decent summer holiday this year, because he appears to be trying to get all his Arsenal transfer business wrapped up nice and early. Well one of the Gunners´ transfer deals at least as the Serie A club Palermo have announced on Italian radio that Arsenal have already made them an offer for the talented young striker Paulo Dybala.

As reported by Metro the club president Mauro Zamparini has also revealed that the champions of Italy Juventus have made their own offer. We have no idea how much these offers are, whether they are similar or whether they come anywhere near the £30 million valuation placed on him by his current club.

Knowing Arsene Wenger, the Arsenal bid will be substantially lower than that but with Juventus involved, the Frenchman may have to spend more than he hoped if he is to make this very promising player a Gunner.

STUNNING transfer GREAT for Arsenal – NIGHTMARE for Man Utd

Oh Arsenal fans, can you just imagine how much it would wind up our old rivals Man United and how much ammunition it would give Gooners to use on their fans if this Arsenal transfer rumour was to come true. A Metro report claims that it has news from Italy that Arsene Wenger is willing to break the bank to get the France international star Paul Pogba from Juventus this summer.

It is already killing United fans that they lost this brilliant young player to the Italian champions after he came through their academy but decided to leave after Fergie failed to give him the playing opportunities that he was promised. How much worse would it be for them if Pogba was to end up back in the Premier League but as a Gunner rather than a Red Devil?

It would also be a fantastic transfer coup for Arsenal but with the transfer fee being talked about in the region of £80 million, I have to say that I have serious doubts about it happening. At a lower but still substantial fee I could see it happening though, so watch this space.
