Man United aiming to hijack Arsenal’s top target

Manchester United are reportedly claimed to be keen on signing Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who Arsenal have been linked with since the end of the season.

The midfielder has been hugely impressive in the last 12 months, scoring 23 competitive goals and assisting 30 more.

He has since refused to sign a new contract with Dortmund, and is firmly expected to leave the club this summer, with his club believed to be ready to listen to offers.

Arsenal and Chelsea were previously said to be battling it out for his signature, but now it is Manchester United who are claimed to be making their own move to sign the goalscorer.

Arsenal transfer latest – DONE DEAL for Dortmund star?

The pressure from the Arsenal fans on Arsene Wenger to start matching the transfer spending of Premier League rivals like Man United and Chelsea has been around for years but it has definitely intensified over the course of this season as the usual injury crisis hit and Wenger’s decision not to sign any players really cost us.

I am not really sure whether the Frenchman takes much notice of the pressure from Arsenal fans but he must surely have seen that he needs to strengthen the squad to have a real chance of the Premier League title next season. According to The Sun he is already on the ball and appears to have already sealed the deal for one big signing in the summer, the Borussia Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
