While Arsenal fans may have been hoping that the move by Real Madrid to use the buy back clause they insisted on putting in the contract of Alvaro Morata when they sold the young striker to Juventus could end up with them selling the Spain international on to Arsenal, it might not happen and it could get even worse for the Gunners.
Because the Daily Star is now reporting that the player the Italian club want to replace Morata is none other than the Arsenal and Chile international star Alexis Sanchez. The Serie A champions are said to be very keen on our striker and they are certainly an attractive option, especially as Alexis has already spent some successful seasons in Italy with Udinese.
The forward is currently on international duty with Chile at the Copa America but the final against Argentina will be over in a few hours and that could trigger the start of a big transfer tussle between Arsenal and Juventus. Does Arsene Wenger have to start showing more ambition in the transfer markey himself to prove to players like Sanchez and Ozil that Arsenal are the right club for them to enjoy trophy success with?
