The Premier League match between Arsenal and Man City tonight is already being seen as a potentially crucial clash between the two sides that have the best chance of being the champions of England at the end of this season, despite the fact the the remarkable success of Leicester City is stopping the game from being a top of the table clash.

And it is not just the three points from tonight and the Premier League title that Arsenal and City are fighting over, according to the Daily Mail. The paper, among other sources in the football media, is telling us that Arsenal are one of the clubs in the running to get the former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola to take charge for next season.

The Spaniard has already made his mind up to call it a day with his current club Bayern Munich next summer, no matter how good a season the German champions have. And it seems to be an open secret that Guardiola is heading to England for his next job.

It was originally thought to be a straight fight between the Manchester clubs but once Chelsea parted company with Jose Mourinho, they were instantly added to the fight. Reports are now suggesting, though, that Pep has a soft spot for the Gunners and the style of football we have developed under Arsene Wenger.

But would the Frenchman be willing to step aside if it meant Arsenal getting this brilliant coach?
