Is Jack Wilshere turning into Arsenal’s new Diaby?

Arsene Wenger has seen the young terrier Jack Wilshere go down with another ankle injury, but the Arsenal boss is still hopeful that the England midfielder will have a long and successful career, despite Wilshere playing less than 100 games since he made his debut six years ago.

“We knew he would have surgery,” Wenger said. “He’s focused to come back and finish the season well.

“His injury is a consequence of a very bad tackle that was not malicious. He deals very well with tackles and kicks but nobody would’ve dealt with that tackle.

“He loves the game but he has also learnt to deal with adversity at a young age. He’s determined. If he has no problems with his joints he will make a massive career.”

I hate to say this but Jack seems to have gone downhill since his first injury. Yes he is a fighter, but he only seems to be aggressive and fiery nowadays with little results for Arsenal. He is definitely a better player for England, but the opposition he has faced with his country this year is hardly in the same league as the Premiership.

The big danger now is that after so many injures he has weakened his ankles so much he will be spending as much time on the reatment table as Abou Diaby has in his long Arsenal career.

This is very worrying!
