Barcelona fans are anticipating Lionel Messi’s return in the summer. For the last few games, they have been chanting Messi’s name every 10th minute of their games. However, Messi’s return won’t be as easy as the thought of his free transfer in the summer seems to suggest.

Barcelona must sort out their wage bill to accommodate the GOAT’s deal. This may necessitate the departure of some Barcelona players. As per Football Insider, one player who could make way is Raphinha.

The former Leeds man has been linked with Arsenal for the last few months. Last summer, before he joined Barcelona, they wanted him. Sadly, their pursuit failed. The Gunners’ interest re-emerged in the January transfer window, but nothing came of it.

They now have the perfect opportunity for that transfer, with Barcelona now ready to cash in. But Raphinha being made available is one thing; getting him may be something else; there’s a hefty price tag slapped on his head. The La Liga giants want a fee in the £50–60 million region if they are to allow the star winger to leave. Considering his 10 goals and 11 assists in 44 games this season, his price is justified.

Arsenal has no choice but to buy the former Leeds man at the premium price for which he is available to beat the competition. Newcastle and Tottenham are also keen on the 26-year-old.
