Arsenal defender looking forward to more competition from Timber next season

We Gooners are pushing for the club to go all out and get quality stars on board; however, the Arsenal players also desire the same. You might think some of them are scared that new signings could come and take their slots, but as per Jakub Kiwior’s latest claims, there’s no such fear among the team.

In fact, the Pole insinuates that he and his teammates know that the best players will come to Arsenal, and therefore they are open to competing for their spots in Arteta’s team to win games and silverware.

“I’m glad there’s going to be more competition,” Kiwior told Polish outlet Meczyki when asked about the possibility of incoming signings before asking the reporter: “Who’s coming?” The reporter told him Timber could be joining

“It’s great that he’s joining.

“Let the best players play at Arsenal. Let’s win matches and win trophies together.”

With Timber joining, Mikel Arteta will be spoilt for choice as far as selection for his defence is concerned. He could also now have the opportunity to tweak to a back three and shake off the predictability tag.

After the lessons the Spaniard learned when his team struggled to perform without Saliba at the end of last season, there is no taking chances with his defence. As Sir Alex Ferguson once said, “Attack wins you games, defence wins you titles.”
