Arsenal’s second string goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski offered an interview for the club’s official website speaking about the game against Olympiakos and about the injury he sustained during the Champions League group stage match.

“I think I am fine, it’s just a really deep cut,” he told Arsenal.com “It was really unlucky but hopefully all the ligaments in my knee should be OK. Hopefully nothing will come out tomorrow or in the next couple of days.”

“I can only talk about the time I was on pitch because afterwards I didn’t see anything. “

“You could see that Olympiacos were really up for it and they were pushing hard. The first goal we conceded was a bit unlucky because it went off our defender.”

“We could have maybe come back in a different way but unfortunately we didn’t and that’s how it finished.”

Fabianski will have plenty of time to recuperate until the next time his services will be needed. With Szczesny in such a great form it’s unlikely for Fabianski to catch a Premiership match any time soon, and the FA Cup 3rd round is still far from us.

  1. Frankly I don’t care about Flappy Handski being injured. We could put a lad from the under 18s on the bench and he would do no worse. What I do care about is Santos getting crocked. Why did he even have to play ?? Having sold Eboue for some unknown reason we never did have more than Santos and sick note (Gibbs) for left back.
