Like William Gallas, Callum Wilson doesn’t believe Arsenal are winning the 2023–24 Premier League. The Newcastle striker was quoted on the Man City website as saying that Man City will lift the Premier League trophy again in this brand new season, saying, “I think Man City will win the league. They have the know-how at the back end of the season when the time matters; they have the strength in depth, and they have been in that position where they have chased, where they have been chased. I just think Pep and his guys at the minute are a difficult team to play against, and people will be more fearful of playing City than Arsenal.”
Even after leading the league standings for 248 days, Arsenal didn’t win last season. Unfortunately, they lost momentum towards the end of the season, which saw Man City walk away with the league title. But the Gunners didn’t let their misfortunes last season affect them; they have taken advantage of the summer transfer window. Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, and Declan Rice have joined; David Raya is expected to join, and other by-the-way transfers could be completed.
The Gooners will be hoping that with a better squad and the experience they acquired last season, they can finally have it in them to win the league, even if many still doubt they can.
Arteta and his boys need to control what they can, don’t focus on the naysayers, and come to the end of the season, end the Premier League title drought leaving Wilson and Gallas eating their words.
