I think that one of the reasons for Arsenal’s lacklustre and strangely disjointed performance against Hull City at the Emirates yesterday was because we were not concentrating properly on the game. Arsene Wenger mentioned the lack of focus and I think he was right and that he was just as much to blame as the players.

We expected to win and already had one eye on the Champions League game against Anderlecht on Wednesday. And that came back to bite Arsenal on the bum, but the manager and players need to regroup now and make sure that at least we don’t make the mistake worse by failing to beat the Belgian champions, which I don’t think we will.

For one thing we will have Calum Chambers back in the side, in the centre if Koscielny is not fit and on the right if he is. So the back four will be more solid and with Anderlecht being pretty goal shy themselves, scoring just once in the last three games, Arsenal can take the game to them.

They were heavily beaten by Dortmund in the last group game while we ran riot against Galatasaray. Wilshere is fit, Ramsey is back and Walcott could feature again. So with Alexis and Welbeck in the goals and Arsenal able to dominate possession, it could actually be an advantage to be away from home with the onus on Anderlecht to come forward.

Surely we are going to bounce back in Belgium aren’t we?
