The Arsenal and Germany star has not done too badly, stats wise, in his first two seasons as a Gunner. But he is certainly one of the many players that has found it hard to settle and fit right in to the rigours of the English Premier League after shining on the football stage of other countries.
Mesut Ozil came to north London with the reputation of being the best number 10 in the world, or at least when it came to creating chances and providing assists. But he lost that title of king of the assists after joining Arsenal, or he did until this season.
Now, however, Ozil is leading the way on things like key passes and creating chances in all the top leagues around Europe. And a Metro report has now revealed that after another goal assist for Olivier Giroud against Everton yesterday, Ozil is now the most prolific provider in Premier League history.
No other player with more than 20 EPL assists can match the German’s rate of one every 2.71 games and the way he is playing you would only expect that rate to improve.
