The Arsenal left-back is happy that he himself has had his best season yet for the Gunners, and he also thinks that this is the best squad that Wenger has assembled since he joined back in 2007 and are finally ready to win their first trophy.
He said: “I feel this has been my best season numbers-wise and stats-wise.
“I had a bit of a dip at the start of the year but managed to finish off strongly and I’m just looking forward to the cup final and to next season.
“I’ve played 40 games this season so I have to be happy with that and take it forward from there.”
“How I feel when I play on the pitch, I feel that this is the best team I’ve played in for a long time.
“I just feel the team’s got a good balance and there’s a strong desire in the team to win every game, and every day coming in and training, everything is 100 per cent.
“The club has a great history and it’s up to us to keep that going.
“Obviously there’s no hiding the fact that we haven’t won a trophy for a few years so it’s an extra added pressure and an added excitement for players to produce for the club.”
“We have got players that have that experience and have played on those kind of stages.
“But we’ve also got players who haven’t won things for a while so we can use that as our hunger to win on the weekend.”
The Gunners have won their last four games without conceding (including against Hull) so if they simply play with the same confidence and desire, the Cup is ours!
