Some Arsenal fans have reacted furiously to reports suggesting that midfielder Thomas Partey could be sold this summer.

The 29-year-old Ghanaian has been a crucial figure for the Gunners, making 40 appearances and playing a pivotal role in their strong Premier League campaign.

By finishing as runners-up to Manchester City, the Gunners secured a return to the Champions League.

However, manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly planning a squad overhaul, with midfield being one of the key areas he wants to strengthen, potentially targeting players like Declan Rice and Romeo Lavia.

The speculation of the former Atletico Madrid man’s possible departure has ignited anger among supporters, who took to social media to express their discontent.

Many fans believe that selling Partey would be a significant mistake, as he has been instrumental for the team and understands their style of play.

They argue that his departure would weaken Arsenal’s chances of winning trophies next season. Fans have emphasized Partey’s importance and called on the club to retain the talented midfielder, who joined from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for £45 million.

But I think if we add fresh players to the team, then Partey’s presence will hardly be felt. Plus, the midfielder is already 30 and is well past his prime.

So it will make sense if the Gunners cash in on him when they can get a good fee out of him.
